Profile - Steve Coppell


Today mark the day Steve Coppell born so I've compile some profile of him. Enjoy reading it.

The former Manchester United player born on 1955 in Liverpool. First played as amateur with Tranmere Rovers while studying at Liverpool University. He turned pro with Rovers on January 1974.

Manchester United sign him in 1975 for a fee of 60,000 pound. Manager Tommy Docherty rated Steve the best player he had ever bought. Steve was admired for his fast and tireless wing play and an exceptional work-rate that helped him to set the record for consecutive games in a Manchester United shirt.

Steve Coppell won 42 caps with England national team, scored 7 goals and appear in 1982 World Cup Final in Spain.

Steve Coppell retired in 1983 and become manager of Crystal Palace at age of 28 and set the record of youngest manager. Since then he has seen major success with Palace and Reading
